The Altius Stack

Altius builds a high-performance matching engine for high-volume trading, a state-root engine for chains with large state, and a control plane for compliance and permissions, all of which run with Altius L1, an EVM settlement layer built on Reth.

Use the whole stack, or add the state-root engine to a Reth-based chain you already run

HPEC

A matching engine for high-frequency, high-volume financial workloads

Performance
Execution
<1ms
Batch interval
60ms
Transactions per second
10,000+

HPEC, the high-performance execution coprocessor, is non-EVM and works across asset, order, and trade types. It settles the results to Altius L1 in batches

  • Dedicated to your order flow

HPEC runs only the orders you route to it, so they never wait behind other applications' transactions

  • Assets stay on Altius L1

If HPEC is unavailable, users withdraw their assets straight from the contracts that hold them

SSMT

The state root engine that solves state bloat

Performance
State root speedup
2.32×
SSMT benchmarks →

SSMT computes each block's state root, the hash that commits to every account and its storage. Without SSMT, state growth becomes a hardware problem

  • Checked against the block header

The client compares each root SSMT returns against the block header, and a block whose root doesn't match is rejected

  • Built for chains using Reth

SSMT can be integrated into a Reth-based chain whose state trie is a byte-exact Ethereum trie

  • The speedup grows with state

As accounts and storage accumulate, SSMT's performance advantage over Reth also grows

Control plane & privacy

Who can do what on your network

Control plane is the admin layer of an Altius network. Your administrators assign roles, run approvals, and set transaction policy through its admin API, separate from the network's public interface

  • Roles and a second approver

Permissions are assigned by role across validators and validator changes wait for a second, distinct approver

  • Rules the network enforces

Deny lists, allow lists, and attestation requirements are stored onchain and checked on every transaction

  • Confidentiality you set

Amounts, balances, and contract state can be kept confidential to the members you admit, as needed

Altius L1

An EVM-compatible network with deterministic finality

Performance
Transactions per second
6,000+
Configurable block interval
60ms

Altius L1 runs Reth + SSMT for execution and BFT consensus, and the two connect over the standard Engine API. A block is final once consensus commits it, and it can't be reorged after that

  • EVM-compatible to Prague

Existing contracts, ABIs, tooling, and wallets work out-of-the-box

  • You choose the fee token

Network fees are paid in the token(s) you set, and gas can be sponsored, configured to the ecosystem's token, or USD-denominated

  • Configured per network

Each network sets its own block interval, validator set, and protocol access permissions
